POETIC PRAISE FOR THE SOUL Are you feeling down or discouraged, wondering what to do? Do you feel weighed down with heavy burdens and the many cares of this world. It may be that you are simply tired and worn-out and need a time of refreshing. If this is describing you, then this is the place you need to be at this moment in time Welcome to my website! I'm Carolyn Weeks May, author of "Reflections of His Love/Inspiration for the Soul" and "The Lily of the Valley/ More Inspiration for the Soul.", books of Christian poetry, including devotionals, commentaries and short stories, each with its corresponding scriptures. My third book, "I've Been Redeemed" is currently in progress and should be available this year. Friend, whatever gift the Lord has given you, whether acting, singing, teaching or writing, (or any other gift, and you may have one or more) He gave it to you to use for His honor and glory and to bless and minister to the body of Christ. It's not that a writer should write only in the Christian or Spiritual genre, but why would anyone want to author works that would encourage strange or inappropriate behavior? Whatever we write should, bring a smile to the reader's face, lift their spirits and bless their hearts, or possibly educate them in some way. After all if it's garbage in and garbage out, why would we want the end result of our writing to be garbage? One of my favorite scriptures is Matthew 6:33, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these other things shall be added unto you." I have found that when we are busy about our Father's business, there's never a cause for worry since He will meet all of our needs, and He knows those needs much better than we do. Both of the books that I have already written, as well as the one I am currently writing, were written with a desire to encourage the downhearted, lift the spirits of those who are weary, and perhaps point the way to the Savior for those who might have lost their way. I long to glorify my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and my Father God by writing in a way that will minister to people. The contents of each book is written from my heart to your heart and my prayer is that after you read a poem or a story you will feel that it has been a blessing. As I wrote each of the poems and stories contained in these books, I felt that the Lord Himself was ministering to me. I also felt He was giving me the words to put down on paper (for me to reread and others to read) to remind me in years to come of the many blessings He has given me. And that regardless of the circumstances I might have been going through, He has always been there for me, and He will be there for you in the very same way. I write with the attitude of heart that the Lord is the author and I'm merely the pen. May the Lord bless you daily and always as you seek to serve Him. Carolyn May
